The Melrose course, named after the Melrose mansion that once occupied this swathe of land during South Carolina's antebellum era, is most recognized for its finishing three ocean holes. Most notable is the Par-4 18th that features a split fairway dissected by an islet of trees and bunkers, and is bordered on the right by a spectacular ocean vista. Daufuskie Island - Bloody Point ~ 1.1 miles

Located on historical Bloody Point, thus its name, this Tom Weiskopf, Jay Morrish, design that is situated along the Mungen River is more playable and forgiving than its sister Melrose Course. It is serene and isolated with no homes in sight, and has been described as "park-like". It was originally designed as a private walking course, so the tees are usually in close proximity to the previous green, and there are no cart paths. The course is fairly open.
