About PGA National-The Champion (Palm Beach Gardens, FL)

The Champion Course at PGA National Resort & Spa was built with tournament play in mind. Originally laid out by Tom Fazio and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1990, the Champion has played host to some of golf's biggest events including the 1983 Ryder Cup, the 1987 PGA Championship and the PGA Seniors' Championship from 1982-2000. Currently the host of the PGA TOUR's Honda Classic each March, the Champion continues to wow and challenge the world's best players year in and year out. Ernie Els took home the title in 1998 with a big finish in Sunday's final round. Designated by Nicklaus as "The Bear Trap," holes 11, 15, 16 and 17 provide one of the toughest stretches in all of golf. However, with five sets of tees you can choose the challege that's right for you.
