North Carolina is synonymous with excellent golf, and Tim Cate's 18-hole creation at Tiger's Eye has only added to that long-standing reputation. Carved from a virgin forest, the layout features 60-foot elevation changes, an island par-three, a waterfall, and elaborate landscaping. It's a brilliant design with multiple tees, undulating Bermuda grass fairways, and slick G-2 bent-grass putting surfaces. Tiger's Eye received 4 1/2 stars in the 2006 edition of Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play."
